Nothing has not announced a release date or pricing for the United States. Android Police reports the phone “has not been announced for release in the US,” according to Android Police, and Tech Advisor notes that pre-orders are open on Nothing’s website even though “it’s not going to be available in the US,” according to Tech Advisor. It is also unclear exactly how the Phone (4b)‘s Glyph Bar compares to the one on the Phone (4a): Gizmochina reports the two phones use “a slightly different Glyph Bar layout,” according to Gizmochina, but Nothing has not detailed the exact differences between the two.

Analysis

The Phone (4b) sits in an unusually tight gap in Nothing’s own lineup: at £299, it costs only £50 less than the £349 Phone (4a), according to Android Police. 9to5Google’s hands-on review questioned that gap, calling the 4b “a pretty simple step down from Phone (4a)” and writing that it’s “impossible to recommend buying Phone (4b) when Phone (4a) is better for basically the same price,” according to 9to5Google. Gizmochina frames the split more charitably, describing the Phone (4a) as “the more premium mid-ranger, while the 4b focuses on value with a bigger battery,” according to Gizmochina. The launch also lands as Nothing pursues a broader hardware push under CEO Carl Pei, who has directed the company toward smart glasses and AI-focused earbuds due later this year, as previously reported.
